Lia and Rafe have escaped Venda, and the path before them is winding and dangerous - what will happen now? This third and final book in The Remnant Chronicles is not to be missed.

I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

My Thoughts:

There’s always that moment when you finish a beloved series where you go through a tidal wave of emotion. Sadness. Heartbreak. Glee. Sadness, again. (I also believe the 5 stages of grief may also apply.) Whatever emotions one does feel, it’s always sad to see a series end.

(They are also the hardest to review, but alas.)

What I loved most about The Beauty of Darkness is how everything comes together. There were gaps where I didn’t KNOW there were gaps, and I loved how what you thought were little things were BIG things and how everything, eventually, wrapped up. There were a few big things that DID happen that had me DMing my friends begging for spoilers because I couldn’t HANDLE what was happening (the book IS rather long) and I wished that I was able to read/listen in my sitting because it was hard to stop!

I listened to this series on audio and I must say, I think it was an experience. That isn’t to say I would NOT have liked it had I not listened to the audio, but I do think it adds to my love for it. All the narrators do a great job with the characters.

Vague review is vague – but if you haven’t read this yet, you should. And if you haven’t started this series yet, you should do that as well. I’m excited to see what Mary has in store next, her writing is simply a treasure.

YAY I am so glad that you loved this too! This is actually one of the few “huge” books that I have actually not hated the length of- like, even though it was almost 700 pages, I loved them ALL. It was bittersweet to me, because I didn’t want it to end! I LOVED how things weaved together, I really thought it was well done. There were a few minor things that I didn’t totally love toward the end, but all in all, a very solid finish!

The series end that I love that will probably leave every other series end in the history of books paling in comparison is, of course, Mockingjay. Ignite Me is another good one- it was my favorite of the trilogy! And this isn’t a well-known series, but the last book in the Apocalypsis series by Elle Casey is also one of my all time favorites!

I haven’t read this series yet and I think that’s a good thing, because it sounds like I’m going to want to go from the first book to the last with no interruptions.
