A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess

My Thoughts: I’ve been in a rut when it comes to Fantasy novels lately – simply because I just haven’t been reading many these days. I had pretty high expectations heading into A Shadow Bright and Burning, and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint. A mix of magical fantasy, political intrigue and monsters in Victorian London, this book had a lot going for it. There’s an interesting magic caste; with Witches, Sorcerers and […]

YOU Convinced Me To Read…. The Wrath & the Dawn // And I Finally Read It!

Hype 1-1/2, Me 1/2. (LOL) Dang, took me long enough, right? Only 3 months overdue, hmm? I’m picky about retellings as a standard rule. Which now that I think about it, it is kind of dumb excuse in this case because I am not wholly familiar with the story in which this stems from. Have I heard of it? Yes. But I only know the basics of the story. Anyway, besides […]

Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto

My thoughts: Wild West. Cannibals. Magic. Romance. I mean, YES. I had so much fun with this book! It’s dark, which is always a plus for me. It’s adventurous, thrilling and just oh so fun. The characters are an interesting lot. There are Native Americans, whose magic stems from the Earth, protecting the people within the city. There are Vampires, trolls and helllllllo, cannibals. With a mix of steam punk, Michelle did […]

Review | The Impostor Queen by Sarah Fine

My Take : The Impostor Queen is by far one of the best fantasy’s I have read. Honestly, I don’t know how Sarah does it. She is a master at creating unique, interesting worlds that are so vividly descriptive it’s easy to visualize and SEE yourself in it. It’s pieced together slowly, and builds up as the novel progresses. I was fascinated by their magic – and loved how balance was […]
