Twenty-four-year-old Kylie Reed has always been a rule follower. Organized and cautious to a fault, her dreams for life are often filed away for future use—when she has a house, when she meets her future husband, when she has been at her visual display job at a chic Dallas boutique longer. Kylie always has a reason for living her life in the future, not in the present, and fears not living her life to the fullest and reaching her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
The only exception to rules, of course, would be running away with Prince Harry. But living in Dallas and not knowing Prince Harry make this a non-option.
Or does it?
Because when Kylie accidentally falls into the lap of a gorgeous ginger guy—yes, even more gorgeous than the real Prince Harry—all bets are off. Kylie’s life takes some unexpected twists and turns thanks to this encounter. Could this stranger be the one to show Kylie how to live in the present?
I received this book for free from The Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
For me, there are types of books I turn to when I need a good laugh. To smile. To just make me feel GOOD. ANY book by Aven, are those books. Not only is Aven an amazing writer and I loved escaping into the stories she creates, this one touches me on more a personal level because of the character, Kylie.
But before I get into that, let’s talk a little bit about the book.
It was fun how each chapter started off with a little mini quiz. We get a better picture of Kylie’s character with these quizzes, because it is SO obvious what her answer would be. I also loved that Connectivity was mentioned in this book. Even a nice little stab from Harrison;
“William fucking Cumberland.” bahaha
In comparison to Connectivity, I thought the overall plot arc was more intense. Harrison is a famous hockey player, and is always in the spot light. Thus, thrusting Kylie into the media. Which would be difficult for anyone, but especially her.
I adored these two together! As I said before, this is a FEEL good romance that makes you smile, laugh and just feel warm inside. The chemistry between these two were off the charts! They both had their quirks but they balanced each other out so well. And the sexual tension was.. *whew*
Harrison is not only sexy, he is sweet, smart and very down to earth. He has a slight confidence problem, that has to do with his choice to not attend school and make a career out of hockey. He’s sensitive about the subject, even blowing up on Kylie. This was one aspect that made me mad. He is very hot-tempered (like me) and is one of those that freaks out, asks questions later type. It’s not a deal breaker, obviously, but hard to deal with. Overall though, I loved how he was always there for Kylie and pushing her to overcome her fears.
Now for the part that HIT HOME.
I always want to connect to characters in novels. You have to, in order to understand their thought process and emotions. But I have never SEEN MYSELF, in a book before. Kylie, is me. I wont bore you with details, but I came to realize a few things about myself in reading Waiting for Prince Harry. Kylie’s fears of confrontation, of letting people down and living in the now. It was something that I thought I had overcome, but apparently not. So.
Overall – I loved it. Aven has a way of creating these awesome, quirky and fun characters and these sweet, swoony romances that just make you feel good inside. I highly recommend this, and ALL her books.
