Calling Anna and Bennett’s romance long distance is an understatement: she’s from 1995 Chicago and he’s a time traveler from 2012 San Francisco. The two of them never should have met, but they did. They fell in love, even though they knew they shouldn't. And they found a way to stay together, against all odds.

It’s not a perfect arrangement, though, with Bennett Honestly, aside from a few events that Bennett has changed and his growth as an individual, there isn't much to the story aside from Bennett trying to figure things out. unable to stay in the past for more than brief visits, skipping out on big chunks of his present in order to be with Anna in hers. They each are confident that they’ll find a way to make things work...until Bennett witnesses a single event he never should have seen (and certainly never expected to). Will the decisions he makes from that point on cement a future he doesn't want?

Told from Bennett’s point of view, Time After Time will satisfy readers looking for a fresh, exciting, and beautifully-written love story, both those who are eager to find out what’s next for Time Between Us's Anna and Bennett and those discovering their story for the first time.

Not so long ago, I read Time Between Us and was swept away by the timeless romance that brings a long distance relationship to a whole new level. Anna and Bennett are one of my favorite YA couples and I was eagerly anticipating the sequel to see where their relationship was headed. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I got my hands on it.

The book starts just a few months after Time Between Us, with Anna heading home from Mexico and both her and Bennett prepare for the school year. Told from Bennett’s POV, we get a look into his sides of things, his love for Anna and the turmoil and stress having the time travel ability has on him. As they plan out their year together, Bennett starts running into difficulty with his “gift” after using it to change events. After seeing something heartbreaking, he questions whether or not him and Anna are meant to be.

I loved getting into Bennett’s head and seeing his side of things. We get to see more of his life back home, in 2012, his friends and family and what his life has been like with this ability. Nothing about Bennett is simple, save for his love for Anna; and watching his character grow throughout the novel was magnificent. He’s torn between his life back home and his life in 1995 with Anna, and we see just how hard it is becoming for him to balance both. There were a few times I was frustrated with him and other times, I felt so sorry for him it made my heart hurt. He is probably one of the sweetest guys, ever. Never once did I questions his love for Anna. He always go far to show her just what she means to him and my face hurt from all the smiling.

Weaving together the romance and time travel is no easy feat; and as I said before with Time Between Us, I thought it was done remarkably well. There are things that are confusing and a few things you have to sit and think about, but for the most part Tamara does an amazing job with it. In Time Between Us, we had the mystery of what Bennett could do. The information about time travel and discovering Bennett’s world added to the flare. Honestly, aside from a few events that Bennett has changed and his growth as an individual, there isn’t much to the story aside from Bennett trying to figure things out. It’s more about Anna and Bennett together, trying to work out what to most would seem impossible.

What I love most, aside from their relationship, is how much this book makes me think. Did that event happened or NOT happen because of what Bennett did or didn’t do in 1995? Or will it REALLY change if he does anything different? It’s really difficult to explain without using a spoilerish example but trying to figure out what caused what to happen was mind-blowing. This book really makes you think.

My Peeve- There were times when I felt Bennett’s voice was really similar to Anna’s (at least, from what I remember). To me, he just doesn’t seem like a typical teenage boy. And I don’t want to question anyone’s work or tell them how to do their job, but I really do think this book would have been stronger with a dual POV. There were many times I wanted to know what Anna was thinking. I kept reminding myself this is Bennett’s part of their story but that small feelings still nagged at me throughout the book. The ending was pretty confusing too. Again, hard to get into without spoilers but I just wanted more.

Overall- I loved it. Time After Time is a beautifully written love story that will stay with you for a long time. As like Time Between Us, this has a permanent spot on my favorites shelf. I highly recommend.

I have this one for review- and it sounds like I need to read Time Between Us first, which is fine, since I’ve been wanting to read that one anyways. Great review girl! I’m curious about Bennett and Anna and I like how you said this book really made you think about certain events. I love those!
