Love is the Biggest Gamble of All . . .

Cocktail waitress Sophie Dalton doesn't exactly have a life plan. She's perfectly happy being everyone's favorite party girl. But when a Las Vegas bachelorette party goes awry and an uptight businessman mistakes Sophie for a prostitute . . . well, Sophie wonders if it's time to reevaluate her priorities. Swearing off her thigh-high boots for good, Sophie slinks back home with damaged pride-and a jackpot of a hangover.

Yet what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there. On a trip to Seattle to open a new office, Grayson Wyatt meets his latest employee-who turns out to be the same woman he recently called a hooker. Wealthy and gorgeous, Gray is a man used to getting what he wants. And it doesn't take long to figure out that smart, sassy, sexy Sophie is everything he's been looking for. As their late nights at the office turn into hot morning-afters, they realize their Vegas misunderstanding may lead to the real thing . . .

I received this book for free from The Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

-Review cross-posted from  my sister blog, After Hours at Lilybloombooks

I was initially asked to join the tour for the second book in his series, Made For You. Although I was told that it could be read as a stand alone – I was also told that Lauren’s writing was A-MAZING and that I should read the first one. Okay, I’ll bite.

And I am glad i did. I adored this book!

There are many troupes in the romance genre, but the “enemies to lovers” is one that I haven’t read much of. And while part of me doesn’t necessarily feel as if this is completely in that troupe, because there is never really any HATE there, it’s close.

Sophie is what I like to call a floater. Not flippant, but one that is tired of living her life to others’ expectations and still isn’t quite sure what she wants to do with her life. Although she lives her life skimming rock bottom, she hits it when she is mistaken for a prostitute. (That, is a bad day). I just adored her! Sophie is a radiant, fun and snarky person. She is tired of living in the shadow of her sister and she is just trying to find herself. Although Gray is a less than likable person at first, she pushes him out of his shell and helps him work on his people skills. Sure, she has her insecurities – which are brought out later – but all around she is such an amazing character.

Gray, was probably one of these most difficult love interest to relate to. He’s stone. Rock hard, sexy stone. He has difficulties relating to other people, but at the same time, he is lonely and just wants someone to be around. He begrudgingly hires Sophie as his assistant, and whether or not he wants to admit it, Sophie is so good for him. He did make some unfair assumptions about her based on someone from his past, but I loved watching him soften up to her. We don’t see Gray’s vulnerable side come out often, but the few that we get are just heart warming.

Their sexual tension was off the charts. It was just plain obvious these two were hot for each other, and I couldn’t take the angst! However, their relationship slowly builds over the course of the novel, especially when Gray’s jealousy rears his head. They are so different, but they make sense! There weren’t that many steamy scenes – but the ones we get were SO GOOD. I love that even though this is a romance novel, there is so much more there. With acceptance and finding yourself.

There are secondary characters that I adored as well. Jenna, Gray’s sister. Will, Sophie’s best friend and last, Brynn her sister. The next book is actually her book, and I’m so curious to see more from her!

My Peeve –

The were times when the pacing felt slow to me. I can’t say if this was because there was just too much angst and back and forth or what.

Overall –

I adored it! Only With You was such fun, sweet and entertaining book! This is the first series by Lauren that I have read, but I will definitely been looking for more of her books in the future.

Oh I’ve been wanting to read this one ever since Danielle put it on the map for me! I’m definitely going to read it sooner now that you liked it so much. I like that it was more than just the steamy scenes too. When you don’t have as many and you have so much more, it really makes those scenes that much more special and memorable!
