A huge fan of Jane Austen, Danielle hopes to find her own Mr. Darcy when she leaves Colorado to attend art school in London. Of course she knows it's silly to wish for that, naive even. But she's met enough males who lacked respect for women, a growing trend it seemed. And at nineteen...well.... However, on only her second night there she gets lost and is threatened by a stalker who proves to be immune to her martial arts training. Before she is completely overpowered, she is then saved by Ethan Deveroux.

While Danielle does find the romance she seeks in Ethan, he's no Mr. Darcy. Her hero is held by a spell which fractures their chance at a happy ending. During the day Ethan is closer to mortal than immortal and can date her like any other man. Yet, as the sun sets, the powerful magic of an ancient curse returns and the evil of that spell is revealed. When that magic begins, Danielle's fairytale romance ends because Ethan Deveroux is a vampire.

Review

Confession~ I didn’t finish this book.

Normally, by my personal ratings, I mark books I didn’t finish 1 star by default. What makes this book so different? Two reasons. One; there wasn’t anything remarkable about it that caused me to not finish. Two; I have to set it aside to read/review other upcoming books. Maybe it’s not fair but…

I can honestly sum up this book (well, up until I quit) in one word. Cute.

Both main characters, Danielle and Ethan, were both sweet and cute. I honestly can’t think of anything special to say about either character. I thought the idea of becoming a Vampire was different. It was a curse, in which the “power” of the curse had a stronger hold at night. They were able to be in the sun, were basically human but had some of the other cliched vampire traits. Strength, speed and of course, drank blood. There was a mention on HOW to break said “curse” but it was pretty vague.

Their relationship was odd at first. They both had a sense of familiarity when meeting. It wasn’t insta love, per se, but it as border line. Like I said, nothing too remarkable about it. Also, there were mentions of other creatures as well. Other than faeries, I can’t for the life of me remember which ones were “real” and which ones weren’t.

Overall- I just wasn’t into it. It was cute but I was so bored. Will I pick it back up? Probably not. This was just not for me.

Great review! I know how you feel. I have deadlines and if a book is just too hard to get into then it takes too much time to read and time is something I don’t have. It honestly sounds like something I would be indifferent too as well. Vampires are probably my least favorite paranormals and are always hit or miss for me.
