End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee’s bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy.

After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.

When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

As always, reviews a series book is always difficult – especially if it’s the final book.

End of Days has been one of my most anticipated, and dreaded, reads for 2015. I was nervous about how Susan Ee would end the series and honestly, I was just not ready to say goodbye to this world and the characters. Even after Nick sent me her copy – it sat on my end table for over a week before I was able to bring myself to read it.

End of Days begins shortly where World After left off. Just like before, I wish I would have went back to re-read at least the last half of the previous book, because there is hardly any recap. There was more here in End of Days than World After – which I appreciated immensely – but not enough if you have wandering memory.

If I could only say one thing about this series – I would talk about the writing. This world is truly horrific. I love love LOVE the fact that Susan has never held back with the gory and gruesome details. It’s terrifying and so realistic (to me). I also love how she is able to write such dynamic relationships and strong family ties. And this series is far from boring.

Penryn as always been strong, fearless and dedicated to protecting those she loves. I actually admired her more after World After, because I loved seeing her on her own. Now, that admiration has increased ten fold because she really steps it up End of Days. The things that she goes through in End of Days would break most people – and she came out even stronger.

Now the romance. I can honestly say that I would have been happy either way their relationship went. I do love these two together – their banter, strength, chemistry and how well they work together is something I don’t see much in this genre, ya know? So of course I was rooting for everything to WORK OUT. At the same time, I was nervous about HOW/IF they would be together and whether or not it would have been believable or just convenient. Also because it was enough for me to have them find each other and love each other. In any case – I wont spoil what happens but just know that End of Days has more kissing, more tugs on the heart strings and thicker sexual tension, too!

Overall – I loved End of Days. I am so sad to see this series end but I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion. Grab the series and hang on – it’s a wild ride!

Sounds like a winner! I still have yet to read this series (much to the chagrin of others) but I do own the first two books! I loving the sound of the relationship dynamics and how the author doesn’t pull any punches with the gritty world.
